Summer storm season is upon Bloomfield Township and with it comes power outages. It's not uncommon to turn to a generator during outages and the Bloomfield Township Fire Department has seen many issues recently related to carbon monoxide and wants to remind you of these safety tips:
- Have a carbon monoxide detector(s) in your home on every floor. Detectors can be purchased at most hardware stores.
- Keep your generator twenty feet away from your home and never leave it in a garage or carport.
- Absolutely never use a generator inside your home.
